Contractual Lecturers’ hunger strike enters 115th day

JAMMU, June 8:  Disappointed over no response of the State Government, which did not take up their issue in the Cabinet meeting, which was held yesterday, the agitating Contractual Lecturers (10plus2) held a strong protest demonstration on 115th day of their hunger strike on Thursday.
They raised slogans in support of their demand and against the State Government.  They also vowed to continue their ongoing hunger strike and protest till the Government concedes their demand for the regularization.
These Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a policy framed for the regularization of All Ad-hoc/ Contractual/ Consolidated employees after rendering seven years of services.
While addressing the protest demonstration, president of Contractual Lecturers (10plus2) Association, Arun Bakshi said that the State Government has once again cheated them by a blank assurance.
Balvinder Kour, Zabir Hussain Shah and Jeevan Kumar also addressed the protest demonstration and explained that they were Contractual vide order no.1584-edu.of 2003 and vide order no.1328 of GAD, who are to be continued till further order and their regularization.
This morning, Sanjay Kumar, Zabir Hussain Shah, Rajni Jamwal and Payal Rajput began their chain hunger strike replacing the previous batch.
