HC seeks details on TSOs

SRINAGAR, June 9: High Court today sought information from the Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Department about the total sanctioned strength of Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) in Kashmir as well as in Ladakh.
The details have been sought in a petition filed by one Mohammad Yousuf Bhat Assistant Store Keeper, who has been transferred and posted as such at Pinjoora-B (Sale Centre).
The order was produced by the Director CA&PD Nissar Ahmad who was called personally by the court today to explain why the order of court dated 6.6.2017 has not been complied with.
“In this background it shall be appropriate to seek information from the respondent department, vis-à-vis total sanctioned strength of TSOs in Kashmir division including Ladakh and number of posts filled up along with the details of those officers and their status”, reads the order of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey.
Court has apart from this sought details of the officers who are holding the post of TSO on in-charge basis and are continuing as such beyond the permissible period of six months.
Court also directed Director, CAPD, to ensure that the interim arrangement against the post of TSOs is made only if exigency so requires amongst the feeding cadre officers in the order of seniority till the post is filled up in accordance with the Rules.
“If any such arrangement is made he shall ensure that such arrangement remains in force only for permissible period. Let the officer report compliance by or before 3rd July, 2017”, Justice Magrey directed.
