2 injured as petrol tanker plunges into gorge

RAMBAN, June 9: Two persons received injuries, when the petrol tanker they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Shabanbaz area, falling under the jurisdiction of Banihal police station.
As per police sources, a petrol tanker bearing registration number JKO2AU 4102 was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into gorge near Shabanbaz area. The tanker caught fire soon after the accident.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and informed the Department of Fire and Emergency Services. Fire fighters along with fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flames.
In the incident, two persons identified as Vishal Singh (driver), son of Man Singh of Samroli, district Udhampur and Jalal Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi Wani of Sherbibi  Banihal received injuries and were shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, where they were responding to the treatment, when reports last came in.
A case under FIR Number 71/17 under Section 279 and 337 RPC has been registered at Banihal police station and investigation started.
