People asked to keep away from river Chenab

REASI, June 9: The general public has been informed to keep away from river Chenab as the water level can increase at any point of time from Sunday morning to Monday morning hours.
In order to maintain the Dam and Power House of Salal Power Station and to retain the water at a required point, the water level of Chenab river can  increase or decrease at any point of time in between 11.06.2017 (8 AM) to 12.06.2017 (8 AM), says an official handout, issued  here today by the Salal Power Station authorities.
Everybody residing besides the upstream and downstream of Salal Dam is requested not to venture near the river bank. They should also avoid their cattle and their trucks going to the river side. This co-operation will support to save the ganeral public and their belongings, the handout added.
