DDC Kupwara inspects district hospital

Srinagar, June 10: Khalid Jahangir, DDC Kupwara today conducted a surprise inspecton of District Hospital Kupwara to take have a first-hand information about its functioning and quality of healthcare services made available to the people.
Pertinently, District Hospital Kupwara is the prime secondary care institution catering to the needs of more than 5.00 lakh population. CMO Kupwara and BMO Kupwara were also present.
The DDC Kupwara carried out a comprehensive visit of the OPD, IPD blocks, Casualty and AMT Schools and interacted with the patients, doctors, paramedics and students. While expressing satisfaction over the functioning of the hospital, the DDC called upon the functionaries of the Health Department to lay thrust on hygiene and cleanliness. He directed for ensuring availability of quality services and providing of such medicines, injectibles, etc. to the patients, as are to provided free of cost by the Health Department.
Later on, the DDC conducted inspection of the new under-construction building of the Kupwara Hospital and directed the local functionaries of the JKPCC to complete one Block of the upcoming complex at an earliest for its early dedication to the people of the district. That would help to decongest the existing hospital complex and provide additional space for establishing new equipment/machinery, he added.
