JAMMU, June 10: To mark the 12th death anniversary of martyr Bicky Singh, who laid down his life, while fighting with the militants, a function was organised at village Bera, Suchetgarh.
Sepoy Bicky Singh was serving in a Grenadiers Battalion, which was deployed in Kashmir valley in counter insurgency operations.
RS Chib, former minister and senior Congress leader was the chief guest, while parents of martyr Bicky Singh, sarpanches, panches and large number of people were also present in the programme to pay floral tributes to martyr Bicky Singh.
The speakers described martyr Bicky Singh a hero of their area and strongly criticized the Pakistan, for aiding the militancy in the State of J&K.
Sarpanch Mahinder Singh Chaudhary, Sham Singh, Chairman of Panchayati Adalat, Darmesh Singh and Bholi Devi, parents of martyr Bicky Singh and many important members of civil society participated in the function.
RS Chib while paying rich tributes to martyr Bicky Singh said that Bicky Singh faced the enemy without caring for his life. He sacrificed his life like a true soldier.
“The militants are being trained by Pakistan and sent in Jammu and Kashmir to create anarchy in the State”, he said, adding that the steps taken by security forces while dealing with the militants operating in Kashmir is appreciable.
