JAMMU, June 10: A seven days workshop on Scale Development and Validation organised by Udhampur Campus University of Jammu was inaugurated at Social Science Block, University of Jammu.
Thirty nine registered participants including faculty and scholars from different University departments and colleges are attending the workshop.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Desh Bandhu Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion while Shankar MM, CEO, Centre for Applied Research and Educational Services (CARES), Bangalore was the guest of honour and the key resource person for the technical session.
In her welcome address Prof Hardeep Chahal, Rector Udhampur Campus University of Jammu stressed on the need for organising the workshop on “Scale Development and Validation”.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Desh Bandhu Gupta shared his views on the research and emphasised on the need for application oriented research. In his address, he mentioned the need of doing a purposeful research which should not remain confined only to the shelves but should be applied in real life situations as well.
Shankar MM addressed the gathering on the importance of scale development and said that development and validation of scale needs to be conducted systematically which should be initiated with thorough understanding of the theory.
Later, the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Jeevan Jyoti, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, University of Jammu where as Dr Neetu Kumari and Mamta Sharma conducted the proceedings of inaugural and technical sessions respectively.
