JAMMU, June 11: The National Secular Forum has alleged that authorities at the helm of affairs in University of Jammu (JU) were adopting double yard sticks in administrative affairs, especially in recruitment process, to suit the interest of its top notch officials in best possible manner.
“JU abandoned the recruitment process for the post of Assistant Registrars ( advertised in August 2011) in August 2015 mid-way citing the delay of over two years as a reason even as the written examination part was done and only interview of short-listed candidates was pending whereas the university authorities are now conducting the written examination for the posts of Medical Officer and Statistician (both advertised on 29-11-2013); and Computer Assistant and Campus Development Officer (both advertised on 06-06-2014),” said NSF State president, Dr Vikas Sharma, while addressing a press conference, here today.
Maintaining that all these posts were advertised two years ago and under rule the University must have to notify these afresh on the analogy of Assistant Registrar posts, he accused the university authorities of adopting double standards as per their suitability.
“Three posts including Assistant Technician(USIC), Security Officer (Bhaderwah Campus) and Electrician (Bhaderwah Campus), issued vide date: 29-11-2013 were also cancelled on the plea of delay of more than two years. Similarly, the post of Assistant Manager advertised vide date 06-06-2014 was also cancelled and re-advertised,” he added.
While elaborating, the NSF leader alleged that kins of University top officials have applied for the above said posts and hence the same were not cancelled which speaks volume about the prevailing mess in the University.
Dr Sharma urged the Chancellor (Governor N N Vohra) to look into this messy affair and take necessary measures to clean up the same. “It’s high time for Chancellor to intervene and take cognizance of the fraud, being made by twisting the things to benefit blue-eyed while making the innocent candidates to suffer,” he said.
