Government working against democratic norms: BST

JAMMU, Oct 24: Bharat Swabhiman Trust (BST) today condemned the State Government for its decision to cancel elections of Block Development Councils in the State, terming it utterly unconstitutional.
Trust Kendriya Prabhari for J&K, Harmesh, who inaugurated the district office of Bharat Swabhiman Trust at Ram Mandir, Purani Mandi, asserted during his address that the trust was always in favour of strong Panchayati Raj System in the State and will soon start campaigning for the implementation of 73rd Amendment of the Constitution. He further said that the State Government was working against the democratic norms of the Constitution.
“The main motive behind opening of the District office of BST in the City heart is to sort out the genuine grievances of the common people at the earliest and also mitigating the same by projecting at the right platform timely and properly”, he added.
Others spoke on the occasion were Mahant Rameshwer Das, Seh Rajya Prabari, Deepak Sharma, Mahila Prabari, Sujata Sathoo and District president, Amarjeet Singh.
