RAMBAN, Oct 24: One person was killed, while two others were seriously injured, when the Xylo car, they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorge at Dhalwas area of the district.
Police spokesman said that, three persons traveling in a Xylo car attached with Power Development Corporation (PDC), was on its way from Chanderkote to Batote. The driver of the car failed to negotiate a sharp curve and the vehicle plunged into a gorge at Dhalwas area, he added.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation, he said, adding, that all the three were shifted to district hospital, where doctors declared driver of the vehicle identified as Zaffar Hussain, son of Ghulam Rasool of Chanderkote, as brought dead.
The two other occupants Shakti Singh, son of Dharam Singh and Kailash Singh, son of Babu Ram, both of Ramban, were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), for specialized treatment.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered and investigation started.
