JAMMU, June 22: Civil Society Jammu today organised a panel discussion on issues relating to implementation of GST in J&K State with BJP Legislators Kavinder Gupta ( Assembly Speaker), Sat Sharma,   Chandra Parkash Ganga (minister) and Rajesh Gupta besides other dignitaries at Gandhi Nagar here today.
Pardeep Gandotra (CA), who was the host of the occasion welcomed all the dignitaries and raised many important issues relating to implementation of GST in J&K State. Gandotra stressed that without benefit of input tax, business concerns will have to pay tax twice and the consumers will get costly material.
Also, compensation package would not be available to States who do not implement GST. Industry & traders in J&K will not be able to sell / buy outside State without payment of full taxes. Therefore Industry, trade, J&K Govt as well as people of Jammu & Kashmir will suffer heavily if GST is not implemented in time in J&K.
“Other important people who spoke on the occasion included  Neeraj Anand. Lalit   Mahajan, Rajesh Jain, Rahul Sahai,  Vinod Sachdeva, Chander Gulhati, Ravinder Malhotra,  Vikrant Kuthiala, Rajesh Gupta, Deepak Gupta and Raman Suri.
These speakers raised other important issues and shared the apprehensions and concerns of business community and people in general regarding implementation of GST in J&K. They also demanded abolishing of barrier  at Lakhanpur which is against the spirit of GST.
Speakers also stressed the need for  implementation of GST on July Ist  and continuation of the benefits given in various packages to industry and trade from time to time under the existing indirect tax regime.
Arun Gupta, Harinder gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Kavinder Gupta, Chandra Prakash  and Sat Sharma discussed various matters in detail and assured the participants to address the issues relating to timely implementation of GST to the best of their ability.
