JAMMU, June 26: A Jawan of 17th Battalion of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) was injured in an assault case in Kot Bhalwal area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, Head Constable Shubkaran Kumar (49) son of Ram Lal, resident of Tawa (Kalakam) falling within the jurisdiction of police station Gharota got injured when one of his neighbours, who is yet to be identified, launched a physical attack on him last night following exchange of heated words between them over some land issue.
The cop, who is presently posted as PSO with ADG Security, sustained minor injuries in the attack and was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment. Gharota police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
