JAMMU: Minister for Information, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today inaugurated Photo Exhibition cum Cultural Evening organized by Department of Information and Public Relations at Kala Kendra, Jammu.
The Minister while addressing the audience said that the Department of Information and Public Relations is an interface between the government media and public and steps will be taken to diversify ambit of its activities viz a viz promoting culture and art of the state.
Zulfkar said that inspite of various constraints the developmental tempo in the state was ensured and with dedicated efforts of the all stakeholders the fruits of development are visible on ground. He said that the photo exhibitions aptly projects the essence of development that is visible on ground and reiterated the commitment of the government to reach out to the last man in the queue with good governance initiatives.
The Minister said that the state has abundant talent and the need is to identify and nurture this hidden talent. He said that the government shall put in all concerted efforts to provide a conducive environment and platform to promote the talent of the artists.
Complimenting the department for presenting a splendid show the Minister said that the artists and lensmen have exhibited their talent in a magnificent manner and exhorted that they should be provide ample opportunities and exposure to showcase their art .
Earlier Joint Director Information, Manisha Sarin presented the welcome address.
Among others, Vice Chairman J&K Advisory Board for Welfare and Development of Scheduled Castes Bhushan Lal Dogra, Secretary Department of Food, Civil, Supplies & Consumers Affairs Shafiq Ahmed Raina, Secretary Kala Kendra Soujanya Sharma, Director Food, Civil, Supplies & Consumers R A Inqlabi, Joint Director Information Jammu Manisha Sarina, other senior officers of information department were also present in the meeting.
Pertinent to mention here that the photo exhibition organised by DIPR displace the various developmental initiatives and welfare schemes of the State government initiated in last two and half years
The photo exhibition is open for general public on 02nd july from 11 am to 5 pm.
