JAMMU, July 1: A colloquium on the subject “Role of Lawyers in Dispensation of Justice” was organized today at District Court Complex, Bhaderwah by the District Legal Services Authority, Bhaderwah under the chairmanship of M K Sharma, Principal District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah.
The objective of the programme was to sensitize the young lawyers about their role in administration of justice. Manoj Parihar, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee (Sub Judge), Bhaderwah while opening the discussion stressed upon the young lawyers to discharge their duties in accordance with the laws established and assist the court in administration of justice.
N P Khajuria, former President Bar Association, Bhaderwah highlighted the role of lawyers in administration of justice. He emphasized that the bar and bench are two sides of the same coin and job of the both is to search for the truth.
M K Sharma, Chairman, DLSA, Bhaderwah while concluding the function impressed upon the participants that the lawyers have a critical role to play in justice dispensation system. He stressed that the lawyers must view themselves as public servants no matter what their chosen field of practice, no matter what side they take on a case.
Others who participated in the discussion include O P Bhagat, Special Mobile Magistrate, Girja Shavan, Munsiff, D K Gupta, President, District Bar Association, Bhaderwah, Advocates P K Parihar, Faried Beg, Shekhar Mehta, Vikrant Mahajan and Rehan Ali.
