Kidnapped woman rescued, accused arrested

JAMMU, July 1: Satwari police rescued a kidnapped woman and arrested the accused.
As per police sources, on June 22 this year, a complaint was lodged by Raj Bahadur Singh of Raina Colony, Babliana with Satwari police station stating that her wife went missing.
The complainant on June 27 again reported to police station Satwari that her wife has been kidnapped by Gurpreet Singh, son of Mehar Singh of same vicinity.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 134/17 under Section 366 RPC was registered at police station Satwari and investigation started.
During the course of investigation efforts were made to trace out the kidnapped lady and arrest the accused.
Through reliable sources it came to the notice that the said lady has been taken to Himachal Pardesh by the accused person and to recovery the kidnapped lady, a police team was constituted, which recovered the lady from Palampur Himachal Pradesh and arrested the accused.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team comprising of SI Jaswinder singh, constable Sudhir and lady constable Tejinder Kour recovered the kidnapped lady and arrested the accused under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh, SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
