KATHUA, July 3: The Kathua Industrialist Unit Association held a massive demonstration demanding the implementation of GST in the State with immediate effect to save the industry and the business community.
In support of GST the Industrialists of Kathua district accompanied by employees of Industrial units assembled in front of Commercial Tax Office at Gate Way of J&K  Lakhanpur and raised protest demonstration against the State Government  to create uncertainty atmosphere  about the implementation of GST in J&K despite the lapse of three days as GST in the rest of country was implemented on July 1.
The President of Association Ajit Bawa wanted to know that why the Government was adopting delaying policy in implementation of GST in the State when the PM Narendra Modi announced  one tax for entire nation. He said the consequences of it are faced by industry as the industry has stopped the production due to lack of raw material which cannot be imported without GST and finished goods could not be sold with GST.
He said the fate of nearly one lakh laborers working in State industry is at stake and fate of industries is also on stake. If the situation could not be resolved the industrialists may be forced to close their units. The general secretary of the Association Sandeep Mittal appealed the Government and all political parties to stop political game plan and make consensus to implement the GST in the State with out any delay. Otherwise State will face consequences .
