JAMMU, July 5: The 119th Mahajayanti of Jagadguru Bhagawaan Gopinathji was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety at Bhagawaanji’s Udaywala Ashram near here, today.
Thousands of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu and outside thronged the Ashram to pay their obeisance under the lotus feet of Bhagawaanji. The rush started early in the morning and despite the sweltering heat it swelled as the day proceeded. The Bohri Ashram of Bhagawaan Ji which the devotees claim has proved to be a Sidh -Peeth was fully decorated by them and Trust members on the occasion.
The function started with Paduka poojan in the morning. It was followed by serving of Prasad to hundreds of Sadhus to maintain the practice started by Bhagawaanji during his lifetime. The Sadhus were also given cash offerings on the occasion by the Trust.
The day long function concluded with Samohik prayers in the evening by the devotees. The devotees were also served the prashad during the day. The Trust had made elaborate arrangements for the devotees and the function passed peacefully. The volunteers of Ashram were engaged in the service of pilgrims to ensure the hassle free darshan.
The devotees were seen waiting in long queues for darshan at the Ashram right from the morning.
The Bhagawaan Gopinathji Trust reaches out to the suffering and needy people on regular basis by helping them financially keeping in view the Bhagawaan Ji’s message that “service to mankind is service to God”.
According to a handout issued by the Trust the Bhagawaanji’s Mahajayanti was also celebrated at his original Ashram at Kharyar Srinagar where also a large number of devotees took part in the function. In addition to it the functions were held at Greater Kailash-I, Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi, Hastsal village, Vikaspuri New Delhi, Shringere Shanker Math, near Kothrud Bus Depot, Pune, Devangondi Hosahalli, White Field Bengalure.
The Mahajayanti was also celebrated at Gole Gujral Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jallandhar, Jaipur, Kandivilli Mumbai and also at various other Satsang Mandals across the country and abroad.
