JAMMU, July 5: Continuing their ongoing protest for the 29th consecutive day, the agitating Polytechnic academic arrangements staff appealed Director Technical Education to timely furnish the required data to higher authorities for regularization policy on them.
As the academic staff of all Government Polytechnics participated in the protest at Exhibition Ground, the class work remained suspended.
Around 80 percent teaching staff in all the 24 Government Polytechnics is on academic basis, who are on strike in Jammu as well as Kashmir division. The ongoing protest under the banner of All J&K Polytechnics Academic Arrangement Association is being led by Atul Sudan in Jammu division and Shahnwaz Qadir in Kashmir division.
While talking to media persons at Exhibition Ground, Atul Sudan said that they have been on protest since last one month and department was just doing eye wash on the name of gathering their data and information from them. He said that in past also they had furnished the same data to department many times but nothing was done on ground till date.
Pertinent to mention that a few days ago, Director Technical Education had asked heads of institutions to furnish data of academic arrangements, like continuation certificates, salary statement and work conduct, etc.
Some senior academic arrangements members also told the media persons that they had submitted the required data many times but nothing was done later. They alleged that the department was using such kinds of tactics just to make them fools and to delay their process.
Sanjeev Choudhary said that despite very positive response of the Technical Education Minister, the response of Director Technical Education is very disappointing. He alleged that when ever they met Director Technical Education she treated them as they were criminals.
