20 tourists rescued by police from Dal Lake after strong winds

 

SRINAGAR:  As many as 20 tourists were rescued in a swift operation by Jammu and Kashmir police from world famous Dal Lake following strong winds, a police spokesman said today.

   He said that a group of tourists in house boats needed immediate help after strong winds in the lake last night.

 Police rescue teams were immediately rushed and 20 tourists from different parts of the country, staying in the House Boats, were rescued.

   The tourists were rescued as precautionary measure in view of very strong winds.

     Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, police said ”Rescued 20 tourists from Dal. Shikara walas advised not to move in Dal lake Motor boats of @JmuKmrPolice kept ready.”

   However, the weather was normal later during the night and this morning in the Lake. (AGENCIES)
