Newly appointed Lecturers protest for revocation of SRO-202

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, July 7: Demanding revocation of  Rule 8 and 9 of SRO-202 of 2015  from being implemented on them, the newly appointed  Lecturer of 10+2 in School Education Department, held a protest demonstration at Dogra, Chowk, here today.
The aggrieved Lecturers raised slogans in support of the demand.  They alleged disparity  with them  and explained that  despite the fact that  the selected candidates for all the Gazetted posts, vide notification number 09-pSC(DR-P) of 2016, dated 10-03-2016,  had undergone the same selection procedure by the same recruiting rules, SRO-202 was enforced only on 10+2 Lecturers.
They appealed the Chief Minister to personally intervene into the matter and order revocation of this draconian rule on the Lecturers.
Pertinent to mention that the Jammu  Kashmir Public Service Commission had advertised various gazetted posts of different departments after the enactment of SRO-202, which were not applied to any of these posts except Lecturer of School Education Department.
Under SRO-202, the newly appointed Lecturers  will get the meager consolidated salary for five years and will have to serve in difficult areas including Leh and other higher reaches of the State for five years which will be considered to be the probation period.
