6926 cases settled in National Lok Adalats across State

JAMMU, July 8: J&K State Legal Services Authority (SLSA) today organized National Lok Adalats across the State during which 6926 cases were settled amicably.
The Lok Adalats were held under the patronage of Chief Justice of J&K High Court, Justice Badar Durez Ahmad, who is also patron-in-chief of SLSA.
According to the Member Secretary J&K State Legal Service Authority, RN Watal, 7000 cases of different nature were taken up and 6926 cases were settled during the Lok Adalats.
A sum of Rs 3.90 crore were awarded as compensation in motor accident claims and Rs 6.34 crore were realized in bank suit claims in the said Lok Adalats.
JAMMU: A National Lok Adalat was held in the District Court Complex, Janipur under the chairmanship of Mohammad Akram Chowdhary, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Incharge Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu.
Eight benches were constituted at District Court Complex Jammu. The first bench was presided over of Jaffer Husain Beg, Presiding Officer, MACT and assisted by Meyank Gupta, 3rd Additional Munsiff, Jammu, the second bench was presided over by Rajesh Sekhri, Additional District Judge (Bank Cases) Jammu and assisted by Kishore Kumar, 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, the third bench which was headed by Subash Gupta, Additional District Judge (Matrimonial Cases), Jammu and assisted by Kusum Lata Pandita, Sub-Judge Jammu, the fourth bench was headed by Yashpal Sharma, Special Excise Magistrate Jammu and assisted by Parvez Iqbal Additional Mobile Magistrate (T) Jammu, the fifth bench was headed by Sudhir Khajuria, Special Electricity Magistrate Jammu and assisted by Anjum Ara, Special MM 13th (FC) Jammu, the sixth bench at Jammu Railway Station was headed by Anoop Sharma, Special Railway Magistrate Jammu, the seventh bench was headed by Mohammad Rafiq Chak, Special Municipal Magistrate Jammu and assisted by Arti Devi, Munsiff Jammu and the 8th bench was headed by SS Bali, Special MM (Traffic) Jammu. At Tehsil Headquarters Bishnah, Akhnoor and R.S.Pura separate benches were constituted, which were presided over by respective Chairman Tehsil Legal Service Committee. Chairman Tehsil legal service Committee Jammu Sunit Gupta, CJM Jammu and Secretary District Legal service authority Adnan Syed, Sub Registrar Jammu also participated in Lok Adalat.
A total of  2751 cases were taken up, out of which 2350 have been decided. A total of Rs 70,52,000 have been awarded in 20 accidental claims cases out of 40 taken up, a total recovery of Rs 5,66,58,839 in 30 cases out of 43 have been effected in bank cases, Rs 8,40,000 electricity bill were compounded and fine of Rs 2,11,320 have been imposed in petty criminal cases.
AKHNOOR: National Lok Adalat was held in the Munsiff Court complex here under the chairmanship of Pooja Raina, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Akhnoor. A bench was constituted which was headed by Pooja Raina, Munsiff Akhnoor and Yash Karan Singh, Advocate. A total of 40 cases were taken up out of which 31 cases were disposed off.
SAMBA: A National Lok Adalat was held in the District Court complex here under the chairmanship of ML Manhas, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority in collaboration with Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Deepak Sethi. Two benches were constituted. The first bench was headed by ML Manhas, Principal District and Sessions Judge and assisted by Sub Judge Deepak Sethi, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Samba Swati Gupta, Advocate SK Khanmotra and Advocate Vishal Sharma. In the Lok Adalat, 6 cases of pre-litigation were settled and an amount of Rs 446036 was realized on spot and 3 MACT cases were settled and Rs 4735000 was awarded as compensation. The second bench was headed by Shabnam Sheikh, Munsiff Samba and assisted by Junaid Imtiaz Mir, Additional Munsiff Samba, Advocate Bhushan Lal and Advocate Poonam Gupta. A total of 46 cases were taken up out of which 21 cases were settled and Rs 19600 was realized a fine on the spot.
KATHUA: A National Lok Adalat was held in the District Court complex here under the chairmanship of Vinod Chatterji Koul, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Kathua. Two benches were constituted. The first bench comprised of Vinod Chatterji Koul, Principal District and Sessions Judge Kathua and SC Katal, Additional District and Sessions Judge and the second bench comprised of Amarjeet Singh Langeh, CJM Kathua and Munish Kumar Manhas, District Mobile Magistrate Kathua. A total of 746 cases were taken up out of which 623 cases were disposed off. Compensation of Rs 2535000 was awarded and recovery of Rs 837500 was also passed in favour of the banks.
UDHAMPUR: A National Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of KS Parihar, Principal District and Sessions Judge Udhampur. Six benches were constituted during the Lok Adalat. The first bench comprised of KS Parihar, Principal District and Sessions Judge Udhampur and Rajni Sharma, Special Mobile Magistrate Udhampur, the second bench comprised of Sonia Gupta, Additional District and Sessions Judge Udhampur and Parveen Pandoh, District Judicial Mobile Magistrate (Traffic) Udhampur, the third bench comprised of RK Dubey, CJM Udhampur and Susheel Singh, Munsiff JMIC Udhampur, the fourth bench comprised of Renu Dogra, Sub Judge Ramnagar and Ramesh Singh Tehsildar, the fifth bench comprised of TA Magrey, Munsiff Majalta and ML Gupta, Advocate and sixth bench comprised of Smati Sharma, Munsiff Chenani. A total of 210 cases were taken up, out of which 106 cases were settled. An amount of Rs 2250000 in MACT cases and Rs 49000 was realized in bank cases.
RAMNAGAR: Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC), Ramnagar today organized a National Lok Adalat under the chairmanship of Chairperson TLSC Ramnagar, Renu Dogra, at Sub Judge Court Complex Ramnagar. The bench constituted on the occasion comprised of  Sub Judge Ramnagar, Renu Dogra, Tehsildar, Romesh Singh, Advocates, SK Gupta, ML Gupta, Rohin Bhardwaj, Vikrant Sharma, Harjeet and SHO Ramnagar Sanjay Rana. As many as 17 criminal compoundable cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat, out of which 9 cases were settled on spot.
RAMBAN: National Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex here, in which MACT and Pre Litigation cases were taken up for disposal. In the Lok Adalat, a bench was constituted which was headed by Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Principle District and Session Judge), Kalpana Revo along with CJM Yahaya Firdaus, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Ajay Sharma and Tehsildar Ramban, Parmod Kumar. 142 cases were taken up out of which 61 cases were settled. Similarly 324 number of pre litigation cases were taken up of which 289 were settled. A total of 350 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs 41, 05,000 was awarded as compensation in MACT cases.
DODA: A National Lok Adalat was organized at TLSC Headquarter Court complex under the guidance of Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee (CJM Doda), OP Thakur and assisted by Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Arun Kotwal, District Mobile Magistrate, Javed Rana, President District Bar Association and Advocate Ghulam Hassan Partigaroo.  In the said Lok Adalat 130 cases were taken up out of which 82 cases were settled. Total award amount of Rs 1319682 was passed out of which an amount of Rs 1093100 was recovered on spot. Assistant Labour Commissioner, CPO and large number of litigants, public, advocates and representatives of the concerned departments also participated in the said Lok Adalat.
BHADERWAH: National Lok Adalats were organized today by the District Legal Services Authority, Doda (Bhaderwah) under the chairmanship of MK Sharma, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Bhaderwah. The Lok Adalats comprised of 7 benches in which various cases pending before different courts at Bhaderwah, Doda and Thathri and pre-litigation cases were taken up for amicable settlement. A total of 148 cases were taken up, out of which 132 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs 45,48,292 was settled in the MACT cases, bank recovery cases, compoundable criminal cases and public utility cases.
RAJOURI: A Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex here under the chairmanship of Inder Singh, Principal District and Sessions Judge. Three benches were constituted. The first bench was headed by Inder Singh, Principal District and Sessions Judge and assisted by Rajinder Saproo, Additional District and Sessions Judge, the second bench was headed by Mehmood Choudhary, CJM Rajouri and assisted by Sarfraz Nawaz, District Judicial Mobile Magistrate Rajouri and third bench was headed by Tehsildar Rajouri and assisted by Junaid Hussain, Advocate. A total of 443 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs 567000 was settled. 20 MACT cases were also taken up out of which 14 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 3385000 was awarded as compensation.
NOWSHERA: A National Lok Adalat was held in the court complex here under the chairmanship of Sandeep Kour, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Authority Nowshera and was assisted by Advocate Rattan Singh. A total of 30 cases were taken up, out of which 24 cases were settled.
POONCH: National Lok Adalat held under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) today amicably settled nearly 553 different types of pending and pre-litigation cases across the district and brought relief to ordinary litigants. Revenue amounting to Rs 5277542 was realized in the said Lok Adalat. Four benches were constituted at District Court Complex assisted by senior officer from district administration and departments to take up piled up cases as well as cases in pre-litigation stages. “Speedy justice is fundamental right of a litigant and National Lok Adalat will greatly help in strengthening his faith in Judicial System”, Principal District and Sessions Judge (Chairperson DLSA), Tahir Khursheed Raina said while speaking at the inaugural ceremony attended by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Syed Sarfaraz Hussain Shah, Special Mobile Magistrate, Ahsan Malik, Munsif Mobile Magistrate and Secretary DLSA,  Wajahat Hussain Kazmi, President Bar Association Poonch, Seyed Taj Hussain Shah, Secretary Bar Association Poonch, Prof Musarf H Shah, KK Kapoor among senior citizen, Iftikhar Bazmi, district officers and prominent citizens.
SRINAGAR: District Legal Services Authority organized National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex Sannat Ghar Bemina under the chairmanship of District and Sessions Judge Rashid Ali Dar. Seven benches were constituted in which 1018 cases were taken up and 484 cases were decided on spot through amicable settlement. An amount of Rs 1, 10,83000 were settled in consumer claims and amount of Rs 20,00,000 was awarded as compensation in 5 motor accidental claims and an amount off Rs 66000 realized as fine in various challans.
