Sir,
This is in reference to the news “Work on multi-level car parking facilities at Panjtirthi, Peer-Kho begins” published in DE July7, 2017.It is a matter of great relief to the people of Jammu city in general and the people residing in vicinity of Panjtirthi and Peer- Kho in particular that their problem of car parking is going to be addressed by the Govt. The work is set to be officially kick started with the CM laying foundation stone of these two mega projects on 9th of July. It has been reported that the multi crores ramp based car parking projects at Panjtirthi and Peer-Kho will be completed in next 24 months and 12 months respectively. On completion of these projects shall ease congestion in old city where most of the vehicles are parked on the road side .Both these parking facilities will be comprised of services like fire fighting and sprinkler system, boom barriers, ticketing machines etc. Since our state is facing terrorism for the last 28 years as such provision for installation of bomb detection unit has also been made to thwart any terrorist attack in the car parking facility.
We hope that sufficient funds for completion of these projects will be allotted to the executing agencies and the projects will be completed within the stipulated time which would definitely improve the vehicular congestion in winter capital of the state.
Yours etc….
