This pertains to the compensation sanctioned by the Government of India in favour of 1945, 65, and 71 refugees. The PRO Offices set up for this purpose receive files from claimants daily from these refugees.
Unfortunately there is no proper receipt, system. Simple signature of a deputed clerk cannot be taken as a receipt for the documents submitted by the beneficiaries procured after hectic and complex efforts and spending of money. It would be appreciated if some proper and satisfactory receipt system is adopted and also a weekly list of the cases received and processed is got published in some reputed daily newspapers of Jammu. The drawback in the forms may be effectively got rectified and the amount sanctioned be disbursed at the earliest.
The Divisional Commissioner, the PRO Jammu and the Vigilance Department may please come to the help of long suffering displaced persons and enable the utilisation of Rs 20 crore sanctioned by GOI.
