JAMMU, July 10: Akhnoor police arrested a man for raping minor girl in Badgal Kalan area.
As per police sources, a complaint was filed by a man hailing from village Tall with police station Akhnoor stating that Jagdish Raj, son of Gain Chand of Badgal Kalan took her 15-year-old daughter to his house and raped her.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 136/17 under Section 376 RPC was registered at Akhnoor police station and hunt was launched to arrest the accused.
On specific information, a team from Akhnoor police station conducted raid and arrested the rapist.
The girl has been restored to family members after conducting medical examination.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Munish Anand and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
