JAMMU, July 10: Authorities tonight suspended mobile internet services in entire Jammu region in view of terror attack on Shri Amarnath ji pilgrims at Anantnag.
IGP Ashkoor Wani, presently DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua range, told the Excelsior that authorities have suspended mobile internet services in entire Jammu region as a precautionary measure to prevent spread of any kind of rumours.
However, he said, the broadband services will remain functional.
After a high-level meeting of civil and police administration, authorities asked all mobile service operators to shut mobile internet services all across the Jammu region. Authorities also reviewed situation in Jammu at the high-level meeting.
Police have stepped up security arrangements in all vulnerable areas of Jammu region.
