Batwal Association honours Rakesh Kumar Sandhu

JAMMU, Oct 27: Jammu Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association (BWA) today honoured a physically handicapped student Rakesh Kumar Sandhu.
The association presented a “Gold Medal” and “Certificate of Appreciation” to Rakesh Kumar for achieving excellence in education.
Expressing gratitude to the association, Rakesh Kumar Sandhu said that after passing Plus 2 examination and to continue with his studies was not be possible as his family circumstances were finding it difficult to pay his admission fee and buy costly books.
“I approached Batwal Association and with the efforts of the members of the association, I completed my Graduation, Post-Graduation and BEd course”, he added.
The association members while speaking said that the handicapped people deserves all help and assistance and the Government is rendering help to these persons so as to make them feel that they are also members of the society.
“A certain percentage of jobs which handicapped persons can perform has been reserved by the Government”, they added.
