UDHAMPUR, July 12: A youth attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in village Rakh Batali Udhampur while two persons were injured in different road accidents, here today.
According to the police report, Ram Pul (22), son of Rattan Lal of Rakh Batali, near Police Academy Udhampur, consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances in his home. Family members took him to District Hospital Udhampur and his condition was stated to be stable.
Police had registered a case in this regard while cause of provocation could not be ascertained.
Meanwhile, a Scooty rider sustained injuries after his two-wheeler skidded off the road near T Morh Udhampur. Locals took the injured to District Hospital Udhampur. He was identified as Sunil Kumar (58), son of Ram Lal of T Morh Udhampur.
In a similar accident, another Scooty skidded off the road at Railway road near Jakhani, resulting into injuries to Sachin (25), son of Ashok Kumar of Jakhani.
