NEW YORK: Singer Kamaal Khan, who shot to fame with the song “O Oh Jaane Jaana”, featuring Salman Khan, said he is considering to bring back the track in a new avatar.
The 45-year-old singer, who performed the song from the 1998 film “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya” at the 2017 IIFA Awards, said the show jogged many fond memories.
“When I sang ‘O Oh Jaane Jaana’ yesterday, it brought back lot of memories. I am planning to revisit… I am working on it,” Kamaal told reporters here on the sidelines of the event.
The singer, who has sung other songs for Salman in films like “Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?”, “Wanted” and most recently “Tubelight”, said he shares a great bond with the superstar.
“I know Salman Khan much before I started as a singer in the industry. It’s fun to be around him,” he said.
The singer-actor duo also sang “Main Hoon Hero Tera” at the IIFA Rocks event.
About actors-turning-singers debate, Kamaal said actors singing in films or vice versa is a good trend and he does not see any harm in that.
“I have acted in films as well so it’s all ok,” he added.
When asked now that the 2002 hit-and-run case is over, if he plans to return to India, the singer said, “I am not here to talk about the case. I’m here to talk about IIFA.”
Salman’s lawyer had requested the Bombay High Court that Kamaal should be made a witness but was never examined as a witness by the prosecution during the trial.
Later, Salman actor withdrew the plea from the Supreme Court to summon Kamaal. (AGENCIES)
