Pak fires unprovoked in Rajouri, Poonch; woman injured

 

JAMMU:  A woman got injured as Pakistan fired unprovoked on the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

    “Pakistani Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from 0730 hrs in Bhimber Gali sector of Poonch along the Line of Control,” a defence spokesman here said.

    He said the Indian Army is retaliating strongly and effectively.

 Meanwhile, police sources said that the woman–Shah Bi– suffered injuries in cross border firing in Naika area of Rajouri and was rushed to a hospital.

    “Deputy Commissioner Rajouri has ordered the closure of all schools near LoC in the district,” said an official.

    Some of the civilians have also migrated to the camps, they added. (AGENCIES)
