Relief holders optimistic about today’s meeting

JAMMU, Oct 28: All Kashmiri migrant relief holders of Jagti in a meeting here today held under the leadership of Ajay Bhat expressed hope that some tangible will emerge in tomorrow’s meeting at New Delhi between the representatives of J&K Government with Union Government regarding enhancement cash relief.
Ajay Bhat urged Union Government to accord sanction to State Government’s proposal which has been already submitted by it regarding enhancement of relief to Rs 10,000 per family per month.
Meanwhile, the relief holders Core Committee has appealed all the leaders of displaced Pandit organizations as well as relief holders of all camps and non camp localities to assemble at Jagti on October 31 to chalk out future strategy in case no positive outcome emerges in tomorrow’s meeting.
The meeting also made an appeal to Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to impress upon Union Government to accord sanction to the proposal regarding enhancement of cash relief failing which the displaced people will be forced to re-launch agitation.
They also demanded setting up of two police posts at Jagti township immediately.
