BJP allots constituencies to MLCs, VCs for development

JAMMU, July 21:With an objective of strengthening the party at booth level in the Assembly segments where BJP could not win in last Assembly elections, State president & MLA Sat Sharma, along with State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul and State general secretary Harinder Gupta, chaired a meeting of Members of Legislative Councils (MLCs) and vice-chairpersons (VCs) at Party Headquarter here today and allotted constituencies to them for development and mitigation of the sufferings of the people.
Sat Sharma, while addressing the meeting said that the party is scaling new heights across the country and the contribution of grass roots level activists have been splendid in mobilizing the public support. He said that the MLCs and VCs, have to devote more time as their responsibilities have doubled. He said that as per the party decision, each MLC and VC is assigned a constituency and the incumbent has to ensure that the public support for BJP gets doubled at each booth. This will finally help party to register victory on more seats. He also made a fervent appeal to the MLCs and VCs to make donations for the establishment of Guru Gobind Singh Chair in the premises of Jammu University.
Ashok Kaul, in his address said that nourishing a particular constituency by MLC or VC is an important assignment from the party. He said that the party eyes the future elections of Parliament and Assembly and the MLCs and VCs in coordination with the district and mandal presidents has to fulfil the task bestowed upon them.
Kaul announced the names of MLCs and the constituencies allotted to them. Udhampur has been allotted to Ashok Khajuria, Gool-Arnas to Vikram Randhawa, Bishnah to Adv. Ramesh Arora, Nagrota to Ajatshatru Singh, Poonch to Pardeep Kumar Sharma, Amirakadal, Habbakadal and Hazratbal to Surinder Ambardar, Karnah to Girdhari Lal Raina, Pahalgam and Gurez to Sofi Yosuf, Leh and Kargil to Chering Dorjey, Budgam and Uri to S. Charanjit Singh Khalsa, Rajouri and Darhal to Vibodh Gupta and Inderwal to nominated MLA Priya Sethi.
Similarly, vice-chairpersons are also allotted various constituencies. Gulabgarh has been allotted to Daljeet Singh, Banihal to Munish Sharma, Surankot to Subash Jandial, Mendhar to Rashpal Verma and Darhal to Kuldeep Raj Gupta.
