DODA, July 22: Thathri police arrested a driver along with 36 pouches of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Thathri police station laid a naka at Kalnie and intercepted a van bearing registration number JK-17 3559 which was on its way from Thathri towards Kishtwar.
During checking, police recovered 36 pouches of illicit liquor from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Amir Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmed of Badhar Sarror tehsil Drabshalla, district Kishtwar.
The van along with illegal consignment has been seized.
A case under FIR Number 52/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Thathri police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Thathri Inspector Manjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah Brijesh Sharma, Additional SP Bhaderwah Shaazad Salaria and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir.
