Concern over supply of impure water to Jagti township

JAMMU, July 22: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K was held here, today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, President of the two organisations.
During the meeting the participants have expressed their grave concern over the supply of un-hygienic drinking water in Jagti township which has been the cause of ailments of the inmates in this township.
Pandita while addressing the participants said that for past long the unhygienic drinking water supplies are being ensured to this township which has resulted that good number of have lost their lives due to the multiple health problems.
He further said that time and again representations and appeals have been made to the authorities as well as Government for making alternative drinking water supply arrangements to save the lives of the residents of this township but till date nothing has been done this regard with the result the residents are still confronted to sufferings and forced to use unhygienic drinking water supplies though not suitable for them.
Pandita has further said that most of the residential blocks in this township have been leaking their roofs putting the occupants of the quarters of the upper floors to lot of sufferings who have to face difficulties due to leakages in the roofs besides several buildings have developed cracks which has endangered the lives of the residents of these residential blocks.
