Restoration of encroached shrines, temples land in Valley demanded

JAMMU, July 25: A joint meeting of Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha (KKHMS)and Kashmiri Khatri Youth Sabha (KKYS) was held at Jagti township near here , today under the chairmanship of its president Er. Ramesh Chander Mahajan.
The meeting demanded passage of Shrines and Temples Bill for protection of Hindu religious places and Temples in Valley which have suffered a constant damage over the centuries together and for last over 27 years in particular.
The meeting, while deliberating the issue said that Government has not taken any step regarding passage of the Bill till date. They also urged the Government to take action against the Revenue authorities who were going to tamper the land records of Hindu temples and shrines in Valley. Besides, immediate steps be taken to restore the land, bathing ghats, cremation grounds, springs, Havan places, pilgrimage gathering grounds, Arya Samaj temples etc encroached by mafia in Valley.
