JAMMU, July 25: All India Confederation of SC, ST and OBC Organisations held awareness camp at Dagha in tehsil Akhnoor.
Apart from people of Ghura Talab, Sunaila, Balgada, Patyari and other nearby villages, large number of SC, BC students and unemployed male and female youth participated in the camp.
The main theme of the camp was to aware the villager about Government sponsored scheme meant for them and how to get the benefit of these schemes.
The camp was presided over by a social worker and veteran Daya Ram, while State President of the Confederation RK Kalsotra graced the occasion as chief guest.
Almost all the villager apprised that they are eligible for BPL cards but they were denied and the list of those who are included in the final list of the survey has not been issued due to which they are helpless in getting financial assistance for the marriage of their daughters. Majority of eligible students were not aware of Prime Minister Scholarships Scheme.
While addressing the gathering, RK Kalsotra aware the mothers of the school going children to atleast sit with their children for 2 to 3 hours everyday and monitor them and advise them to read and learn whatever the teacher taught them in classes. He asked the youth to get loans from the financial agencies of the Government and banks and start their own business. To get skillful join RSETI and become trained to start your own venture, he added.
He also advised them to strengthen and support the Confederation which is struggling hard to save constitution rights enshrined in it for them.
In the end, Daya Ram presented vote of thanks.
Among others present were Manoj Kumar, Rajpal, Kuldeep Singh, Kewal Krishan, Tilak Raj and Kala Ram.
