JAMMU, July 26: Seeking continuation of intensified anti-militancy operations and tightening of noose around separatists in Jammu and Kashmir, top RSS functionary Indresh Kumar today predicted that these pro-active policies of the Government would take the war against terrorism to a logical conclusion.
“The present Government is pro-active and the results are encouraging, which is evident from the fact that unlike last year when lakhs of people participated in funeral of a terrorist, the number in such processions has decreased to hundreds only,” he said while talking to media persons on sidelines of a function by Forum for Awareness on National Security (FANS) to pay tributes to Kargil martyrs, here today.
Alleging that previous Governments were only reactionary, Indresh Kumar said that no action was ever taken against the Hurriyat and separatists, who were given a long rope earlier. “However, the present Governments at Centre and State deserve all appreciation for tightening noose around these separatists, who need to be kept in jails,” he said in reference to the arrest of seven separatist leaders by NIA yesterday.
Indresh Kumar also favoured further curtailment in security of the Hurriyat leaders and said that people in Kashmir have now seen the real face of these self styled Azadi protagonists and this was the reason that there were no protests on arrest of these separatists by NIA.
In response to a query regarding ongoing standoff with China at Doklam, the RSS leader opined that there was also need to deal the Dragon economically besides diplomatically. “On diplomatic front, the Government of India has exposed China before world community and it is now issuing hollow threats but at economic front, people need to boycott Chinese products for which we have already launched a vigorous campaign,” he said.
At the same time, RSS leader exuded confidence that in the present regime, boundaries of India with China are not only safe but will extend further.
