JAMMU, July 26: BJP MLC GL Raina today held separate meetings with Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping and DV Sadananda Gowda, Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation, and took up issues concerning J&K.
In the meeting with Nitin Gadkariji, the BJP MLC stressed upon the need to have a tunnel constructed at Sadhana Pass. The Minister issued on-the-spot instructions to concerned authorities to check the feasibility and other related aspects on the subject so that the process to construct the tunnel starts as early as possible.
During the meeting with DV Gowda, Raina stressed upon the need to initiate the process of undertaking an exhaustive survey of the displaced Kashmiri Hindu community languishing in sub-standard habitations. The MLC brought to his attention the fact that the displaced community has not been able to reap the benefits of many welfare schemes due to absence of authentic data.
The Minister assured the MLC that everything possible will be done to ensure that the displaced community gets all the benefits of welfare schemes.
