Thief arrested, stolen property worth Rs 70000 recovered

JAMMU, July 26: Belicharana police under “Operation Meghdoot” arrested a thief and recovered stolen property worth Rs 70,000.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Belicharana police post picked up a person for questioning into theft case.
During questioning, the person broke down and confessed to have committed the theft. The person has been arrested, who has been identified as Balwinder Singh, son of Bharat Singh, a resident of Tehsil Bhaderwah and presently residing in Belicharana.
On his disclosure, property including 4 ceiling fans, 2 motor pumps, 2 batteries and one transformer worth Rs 70,000 were recovered.
The person has been arrested in a case registered under FIR Number 149/17 with police station Satwari.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Belicharana police post SI Balram Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh, SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
