JAMMU, July 26: City police under Operation Sanjeevani arrested three drug peddlers along with cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from City police station laid a naka near Hari Market and asked three persons to stop for checking as they were trying to hide themselves from the cops.
During checking, police recovered 171 grams of cannabis from the possession of intercepted persons and arrested them.
The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Danish Rehman Dar, son of Abdul Rehman Dar, a resident of Sangam, district Anantnag, Gosha Khokher alias Abi, son of Sunil Khokher of Bakshi Nagar and Rayaz Ahmed Mir, son of Abdul Rehman Mir, a resident of Khallan Gund Mussa, tehsil Awantipora.
A case under FIR Number 38/17 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at City police station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO City Inspector Sunil Arya made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
