JAMMU, July 28: A woman pedestrian was injured today in a hit and run case in Miran Sahib area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a pedestrian identified as Suman Kumari wife of Ram Lal, resident of Khairian, sustained serious injuries when a rashly driven truck hit her at Miran Sahib.
The spokesman said that after committing the crime, the truck driver fled from the spot leaving behind the injured woman. “However, the alert police officials chased the truck and managed to stop it near Kullian”, he said, adding, the vehicle was seized and driver of the truck Balwinder Singh son of Barkat Singh, resident of Chak Mohd Yaar (RS Pura) was arrested.
He further said that the injured woman was hospitalized while a case FIR No 102/2017 was registered at police station Miran Sahib against the accused.
