NCP demands investigation into running of private school over nullah

JAMMU, July 28: State NCP chief and former Minister, Thakur Randhir Singh, today demanded that a judicial inquiry be conducted why a school was being run over a nullah at Thathri, violating all guidelines.
He alleged that the school was situated on the side of a nullah and the locals had protested when the local MLA G M Saroori provided 25 meter slab over the nullah to be used as a playground which he said became the cause of killing of all the members of one family of Dev Raj and many houses nearby.
Singh said had there been not this school and construction of slab over the nullah, the water and bolders may easily passed through nullah and tragedy may not have happened.
Earlier, Singh met a team of senior NCP leaders, which was deputed by him to go to the spot of cloud burst affected area at Thathri to find out whether relief is being provided under special provision to the affected families.
