UDHAMPUR, July 28: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Rakesh Singh and was attended by   members of all zonal executive bodies of Udhampur.
Rakesh Singh highlighted the burning issues of teaching community and   said that it was very ironical that in School Education Department, the pace of DPC was very slow as compared to other departments.
There are so many vacant posts of Masters  and Lecturers  lying vacant,  particularly in rural areas  due to which  studies of  students are suffering badly but despite this fact    School Education Department is taking no interest in  conducting DPC at  regular intervals, he explained and demanded  large scale DPC of teachers  and Masters   at fast track within six months for smooth  functioning of  department.
Vivek Gupta   said that that due to the transfer of SSA teachers against the   posts of General Line teachers,   the interest of General line teachers were adversely affected and also due to this     SSA schools particularly of rural areas   are on the verge of closure.
