KATHUA, July 28: Various important posts of officers are vacant for months together in twin districts of Samba and Kathua affecting the official work to a great extent.
According to sources, the posts of Chief Project Officers (CPOs) are vacant in both Samba and Kathua districts for over last eight months while the post of Additional DC Development is also vacant in Kathua district from the same period.
Sources said the post of CPO is most important in a district and last District Development Board (DDB) meeting in Kathua was held without a CPO. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Shyam Choudhary. Sources said that the CPO has to introduce the district plan in DDB meetings but last time the DDB meeting was held at Kathua without presentation of district plan by CPO.
Besides, the Post of District Economics and Statistical Officer and District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Project Officer is also vacant in Kathua district for a long time.
In addition to it the Posts of ZEO Basholi, ZEO Mareen and ZEO Salan as well as Zonal Physical Education Officer Lohi Malhar in Kathua district are lying vacant for a long time with Government paying no attention to fill up these posts with the result public is suffering a lot.
Besides, 10 lecturers of physical education are also vacant in the district.
