Samuel L Jackson bags first TV starring role

LOS ANGELES, July 30:  Actor Samuel L Jackson has signed on for his first TV starring role.
The project titled “The Old Man” is an adaptation of Thomas Perry’s novel of the same name, reported Deadline.
Jackson will play Dan Chase, a former Army intelligence officer who has been on the run for 35 years after a botched operation in Libya.
The small screen adaptation comes from Jonathan E Steinberg, co-creator of “Black Sails” and Warren Littlefield.
The show’s creative team is currently pitching it to a number of networks, including FX, TNT, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon. (PTI)
