JAMMU: As many as 592 pilgrims today left from here to perform Buddha Amarnath pilgrimage in Poonch district while 308 pilgrims left for holy cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.
The first batch of Buddha Amarnath pilgrims was flagged off yesterday from Bhagwati Nagar based Yatri Niwas.
An official said that 439 males, 151 females and two children left in 16 vehicles for Poonch to pay obeisance at Buddha Amarnath.
Meanwhile, 308 pilgrims comprising 236 males and 73 females also left for Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine from here in eight vehicles.
Security personnel escorted the convoy of the yatra to their destinations. (AGENCIES)
