SRINAGAR, July 31: Expressing serious concern over the closure of Urusa Gawalta Road (Uri) due to landslides, former minister and senior Congress leader Taj Mohi-u-Din has blamed the Govt for failing to open the road, as a result the common people of Gawalta and adjacent areas are suffering.
He also blamed the ruling dispensation for miserably failing to address the genuine concerns of the people.
While interacting with the residents of Gawalta, today Taj Mohi-u-Din was apprised that Arusa Gawalta Road which was closed due to landslides before three years has not been opened for unknown reasons and the persons responsible for maintaining the road are totally indifferent, as a result the road has remained closed for last three years and that people have to carry essential commodities and other items for 6 kms by head load.
Mentioning that the developmental process started earlier in the State has suffered a blow due to wrong policies of the Government, the entire State is lagging behind in every filed, whether it was construction of roads, bridge, drains, connectivity in far off areas and other sectors directly connected with the people at grass roots level, Taj Mohi-u-Din said.
He also lashed out at the Education Department for failing to ensure availability of teachers in high school Gawalta where 150 students are getting education, but this is very unfortunate that the Masters and Teachers belonging to Ruling party or in relation of MLA Uri have got themselves attached with road side schools.
He urged upon the Education Minister to look into the matter immediately. He also emphasized that the school building which was constructed under RUMSA in 2013 has not been completed needs to be completed early.
