JAMMU, Aug 1: Income Tax Department today conducted survey in the residence of MES contractors at Trikuta Nagar and laid hands on several incriminating documents highlighting concealment of profits.

Official sources told EXCELSIOR that on the basis of information gathered from reliable sources and the refund claims being made during the past some years, the Income Tax Department sleuths today conducted survey in the residence of Anil Nargotra, Raman Nargotra and Ravi Nargotra at Trikuta Nagar.
These three brothers are running firms under the name and style of M/s Om Parkash Nargotra and Company, M/s Om Parkash Nargotra Pvt Ltd and M/s R R Constructions. All these firms are in the construction business and obtaining contracts from MES.
“All these firms were showing less profits by inflating expenditure thereby evading income tax”, sources said, adding “a number of documents were impounded during the survey and their preliminary scrutiny revealed wide spread attempts to evade income tax”.
More such surveys are likely in the coming days, sources said.
