SAMBA, Aug 4: Vice Chairman of State Medical Supply Corp and All India Jat Mahasabha-J&K president, Ch Manmohan Singh took up the issues of Displaced Persons of 1965 and 1971 regarding problems being faced for getting relief package sanctioned by the Prime Minister, with the Dy Commissioner Samba today.
He apprised the Dy Commissioner Sheetal Nanda (IAS) about the various problems faced by the DPs in completion of necessary papers required for receiving the part of Rs 5,50,000. He requested that DPs are getting this relief after so many years of struggle and must be given a patient touch in completing the papers.
He requested the Deputy Commissioner to send the Revenue staff in hamlets to complete the necessary papers to minimize the troubles. The Dy Commissioner accepted the proposal to send staff in the field. During meeting many other issued being faced by the DPs were highlighted.
It was pointed out that many senior citizens amongst the refugees do not have State subjects and many others don’t have ration cards. Dy Commissioner assured the deputation that a camp will be organised near August 15 at Tehsil office Ramgarh where all the concerned authorities will be present and people are advised to get all the necessary documents as such their PRCs and they will be issued state subjects immediately and without any hassle.
Dy Commissioner heard the problems very patiently and assured that every possible step will be taken for the smooth disbursal of certificates. Manmohan Singh appreciated the positive approach of the DC Samba.
