NEW DELHI: Magnum opus ‘Bahubali the Conclusion’ has completed 100 days at the box office today. Released on April 28, the movie is a cocktail of fun stunts, attractive stars, grand settings, and great visual effects and has broken records and inscribed its name in the pages of history. While the first part – Bahubali: The beginning raised the mysterious question ‘Why Katappa killed Bahubali?’, the second installment, Bahubali 2: The Conclusion solved the riddle and became the king of box office collection. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggupati and Anushka Shetty, the movie in his Hindi version has earned more than Rs 251 crore and across India in all languages it is Rs 625 crore, which is more than many high budget Bollywood films. ‘Bahubali 2’ is an Amar Chitra Katha-style blend of mythological references and palace intrigue laid out on a vast canvas of visual grandeur. The proportion of the ingredients has been changed though, with myth and socially regressive themes being scaled down, family politics being scaled up, and the decibel levels being raised by several notches. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film also stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles. (AGENCIES)
