Five cases settled in Lok Adalats

JAMMU, Oct 31: Tehsil Legal Service Authority (TLSA) today organised an awareness camp-cum Lok Adalat in the Court complex of Tehsil Majalta.
The awareness camp on right and protection of women from domestic violence was held under the chairmanship of Munsiff, Majalta, Preet Simran Kaur.
Kaur discussed various kinds of abuses with the women, including domestic violence such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, verbal and emotional abuse, economical abuse as well as child abuse.
She urged the participants including ASHA workers to be alert of such kind of domestic violence or spousal abuse and immediately intimate the appropriate authorities about the violence.
Later, two civil cases were amicably resolved with the intervention of advocates, Sarpanchs and Panchs of the Tehsil, pending in the court for more than eight years. The Lok Adalat was attended by president, Bar Association, Susheel Sharma and secretary, Bar Association, Mohan Lal Gupta.
A Lok Adalat was also organised at Reasi Court complex by the District Legal Services Authority, under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Reasi, Rajesh Sekheri, who was assisted by Munsiff Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Reasi, Archana Charak.
A total of 12 cases were taken up and three pre-litigation cases were decided.
A number of litigants besides Bar Members also attended the Lok Adalat.
